Prawn Biryani Really Delicious and time consuming dish

Prawn Biryani is one the delicious Indian recipe that prepare with the support of rice and natural ingredients. This is spicy dish and is essential for lunch. This is a time consuming dish prepared in the Indian subcontinent. It’s so easy and thus, requires no special ingredients.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/3 cups uncooked white rice
  • 2 small onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 large tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 9 ounces or 200 gms raw peeled king prawns
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 4 whole cardamom seeds
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Quarter tsp chili powder
  • Sprinkling of saffron soaked in 1 tsp warm milk

Directions
  1. Place white rice with enough water to cover in a small bowl. Soak the rice for about 20 minutes and then drain it properly.
  2. Heat the ghee and fry the ginger, onions, garlic, cinnamon and cloves. When the onions start turning translucent or pink in color and becomes soft, add the chili powder and tomatoes sliced.
  3. Fry this entire paste until the raw smell of the masala’s go. Then add the rice and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add the water, lower the flame to medium, cover the pan and cook properly.
  4. Make sure that the prawns are cooked but not overdone.
  5. Serve your Prawn Biryani with a spicy pickle and dollop of natural yoghurt. Enjoy its very tasty.
  6. When the rice looks half done, add the green chili, garam masala and raw prawns. Give the rice a good stir.
  7. Remember do not stir the rice too much or it will not have the separate texture or fluffy that characterizes pulao.
  8. Recover and cook until the prawns are done and the rice is dry. Before you take the rice off the flame, mix in the milky saffron.
